After consultation with a Chinese ‘date setter’, the Family is planning to officially move into the new house this Thursday (being an ‘auspicious day’ for moving).
The extension work has only just finished, and the metal grilling was installed yesterday.
Went on a mad shopping scramble to meet the deadline today.
Bought the remaining lamps/lighting (from Maruzen) for [...]

Previously, May used to have her birthday party at McDonalds.
Since she started school, this is her 1st time party at the kindergarten!
One week earlier, Ama and May had started preparing ‘party packs’ for the classmates who would be attending the party.
It took 2 days to prepare the cupcakes for the Kids and the Family.
Since the [...]

Old trucks/lorries which spewed out dirty smoke is likened to ‘squid’ or ‘cuttlefish’ by Ama.
Explained to the Kids that those animals squirt out black ink, much like polluting vehicles.
So whenever the Kids see a black-smoke-spouting-vehicle, they will go ‘squid’! or ‘cuttlefish’!
But Jern was confused recently – he went Jellyfish, jellyfish!
Which made Ama scratch her head [...]

Ama is addicted to the Anggugu.com Mommy Blogger meets.
Today, the Family went to Mid Valley for another meet.
Got there early, but only went to meet up at Dragon-I restaurant after Aba went for movie.
Adjourned later to Cititel to kaypoh-keypoh.

Went to Ikea to buy lamps and lighting for the new house.
There was a CNY special ‘workshop’ going on for kids – lantern painting, window art, t-shirt painting etc.
The Kids enthusiastically joined in, after Ama ‘cashed-in’ on the Ikea receipts to get vouchers for it.
The Kids did lantern painting and window art (butterfly).
They made such [...]

The Family has already started receiving CNY greeting cards from the very far (half-way across the world, like London), to quite far (Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore), to the extremely near (ie next door neighbour)…
But, Ama had yet to write the 1st CNY 2008 card to be sent out!
Neither has the Family bought a single CNY [...]

So May is learning to speak Mandarin. On her own initiative!
She constructed sentences to report to the teacher on the day’s happenings.
Sample:- “今天我家婆来我家”. Which made the teacher scratch her head.
Actually, May was trying to say that grandma (maternal) was coming to her house (and not the mother-in-law).
Close enough – and full marks for effort!

Extension and renovation work on the new house including additional wiring had started since 26th of last month.
Now only tiling, painting and cleaning up is left.
The metal grilles for windows and doors are being ‘made’ and should be installed before the weekend of the following week.
The alarm system will then be finalized.
After which the Family [...]

Every CNY, since the Kids were born, Ama have saved all the ang pau packets that were received by the Kids.
Now that they are old enough, Ama and the Kids made use of those packets to create paper ‘lanterns’.
The Twins were in charge of sorting the packets into the right sizes (big/small).
May was tasked with [...]

Yet another ‘role-playing’ case.
Sarn and May each hung a pouch over their heads, stuffed a soft toy into the pouch, and pretended to be kangaroos!
They didn’t even dare to bend, for fear of their ‘babies’ falling out, but jumped around a lot (like kangaroos?)!
