May came home from school with a ‘strange’ pencil, so Ama queried her on it.
Because of her changing story – sekejap it was given by the teacher, sekejap she found it lying on her table – Ama was convinced that May had taken someone else’s pencil.
After a telling off about ‘stealing’ and the ethics of it, Ama instructed May to find out whose pen it was and return it, the next day.
Today, Ama found out that the pencil was indeed given by the teacher – as an award for BEST Behaved Girl in class! (Actually the teacher did tell May what the pencil was for – in Mandarin, which May couldn’t repeat because she still was not fluent in it).
Poor May – accused for nothing!
oh tat was so sweet, she got an award for being well behaved…bravo to May. BTW, first time here, nice blog you have.
